Lily-Anne Farrow Tillett, 23, from Bristol who has been riding for 17 years, said she always buys Ariat boots when possible because they are comfortable and good quality.

At over £600 these boots are a bit pricey, Ariat has always been praised for the quality of their boots. Made of calf leather and with extra support and comfort, these are boots you could wear all day.

Eilish Thoumine, 20, from London has been riding horses for 17 years and does cross-country and show jumping said that these are the best boots on the market for her.

Eilish said: "They're a Spanish cut made of baby calf leather and they are gorgeous.'

"I tend to buy long boots, they look smarter when you're competing and you don't have the issue of mud everywhere in the middle of winter when you're trudging through fields.'

She explains: "Ariat boots are the epitome I think, although they are expensive."

These boots are made from Nubuck Leather, a leather which has been sanded or buffed to make a velvet-like surface. The boot also has a natural wool lining and is brilliant for the wintertime.

Eilish Thoumine said that these are her favourite boots and they are the most expensive item of clothing that she owns but they are worth it.

She said: "They are the most expensive item of clothing I own by a mile, but they are so worth it.'

'They are lined like UGG boots so you are still able to feel your feet in the depths of winter and they are a great investment."

These boots combine both style and practicality, they could be used around the yard or in competition and with added insulation you can wear these in all weather conditions.

Jennifer Coakley, 21, from Kidderminster, who has been riding for 13 years said that it is important that you buy boots you are comfortable in.

She said: "Never buy online, go out, get them fitted and make sure they are comfortable as this can seriously affect your riding.'

'These boots are perfect because they are insulated for winter use, all leather and brilliant both for competitions and around the yard. They can also be ordered to your size and laced up to fit perfectly.'
